O filme que, basicamente, conta a história da bomba atómica e do seu criador é o grande candidato a “limpar” os Óscares nas principais categorias.
Como era de esperar, o filme de Christopher Nolan sobre Julius Robert Oppenheimer (interpretado por Cilian Murphy) é o que tem mais nomeações para os Óscares 2024. Esta biopic teve indicações em todas as principais categorias (Melhor Filme, Melhor Realizadores, Melhor Actor, Melhor Actor/Actriz Secundário/a, entre outras).
Barbie, que protagonizou o grande fenómeno de bilheteira em 2023 (foi o filme com mais receitas a nível mundial, com quase 1,3 mil milhões de euros) acaba por ficar aquém do esperado – falha a nomeação para Melhor Realizador (Greta Gerwig) e para Melhor Actriz Principal (Margot Robbie), acabando por ter “apenas” oito nomeações.
O segundo filme mais bem posicionado para ganhar mais estatuetas douradas é Poor Things (que estreia esta semana em Portugal e onde entra a fadista Carminho), com onze nomeações; em terceiro lugar está Killers of the Flower Moon, de Martin Scorsese, com dez.
Napoleão acaba por ser um dos grandes derrotados destas nomeações: só consegue entrar nas categorias técnicas (três), pelo que Joaquin Phoenix não vai ter qualquer hipótese de ganhar o Óscar para Melhor Actor ou Ridley Scott, para Melhor Realizador.
